Charli XCX and Billie Eilish roll around in bras on ‘Guess’

Charli XCX’s new remix of ‘BRAT’ is for ‘Guess,’ one of the bonus tracks included on the deluxe edition of the album, and yes, it features a guest appearance by Billie Eilish, notable because Eilish rarely offers to be a guest artist on another artist’s song, much less collaborate with anyone other than her brother, Finneas (‘Lovely’ with Khalid and ‘Lo vas a olvidar’ with Rosalía were officially duets). ‘Guess’ is Eilish’s first project in which the artist acts as a feature.

The remix of ‘Guess’ is faithful to The Dare’s original production, so much so that it doesn’t allow for any substantial changes of any kind. It is a 100% electro production, with echoes of Daft Punk’s ‘Technologic’, on which Charli – and now Billie – recite their respective verses.

This time, in response to Charli’s challenge (“you wanna see the colour of my underwear”), Billie responds by adding a new verse. Billie doesn’t have to “guess” anything: she bought the panties Charli is wearing herself, “in Tokyo”. And if Charli thinks Billie is into her, the American confirms: “Charli likes boys, but she knows I’d hook up with her.”

The music video for ‘Guess’ – directed by Aidan Zamiri – follows the aesthetic of the ‘Von Dutch’ and ‘360’ clips first, and then sticks its head outside. Billie springs into action like a steamroller, crashing her tractor into Charli’s house, and then both stars roll around in a mountain made of bras.

The remix of ‘Guess’ is the fifth from ‘BRAT’, after ‘Girl, so confusing’ with Lorde, ‘360’ with Robyn and Yung Lean, and the two from ‘Von dutch’ with Addison Rae and AG Cook, and with Skream and Benga.
