Chappell Roan has presented the first preview of his upcoming album on SNL, ‘The Giver’. The author of ‘The Rise and Fall Of A Midwest Princess’ signs another anthem for the collective that also stands out for its country flavor, with violins included.
The American’s producer, Dan Nigro, spoke last October with The New York Times about a “fun, up-tempo country song” that would be included on her next album and that would show “a new version” of the singer. Everything indicates that ‘The Giver’ is just that.
In the lyrics, that of ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ It narrates a sexual encounter between two women in which Chappell is “the one who gives” and her partner is “the one who receives.” In between, he sends a message to the male figures of the genre: “All the country guys saying that you know how to treat a woman… only a woman knows how to treat a woman.” Roan also took the opportunity to perform one of his biggest late hits, ‘Pink Pony Club’.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvxkikKJB74
