Almost two years after Chanel shone on the Eurovision stage with her ‘SloMo’, the artist publishes her first album, ‘Agua!’. She also does it in style: reaching number 1 on the list of best-selling albums of the week. The singer’s debut has been accompanied by an interview in El Hormiguero and a performance in Operación Triunfo, apart from the new single ‘ Ahora Que No Te Tengo’ or the hit still active ‘Clavaito’. All this has elevated Chanel to the top 1.
Another of the great releases that enter the list is ‘Orquídeas’ by Kali Uchis, Record of the Week for JENESAISPOP. The artist, who has dared again with an album in Spanish, has positioned her new work in the top 15 in our country. The merit is greater if we review the Billboard 200 in the United States, where Kali Uchis has achieved an impressive 2nd place with 69,000 copies sold, only behind 21 Savage’s new album. It is already the best debut of her career.
21 Savage, who has indeed debuted at number 1 in the United States, has also been noticed in Spain with ‘American Dream’. The album, which has collaborations with Doja Cat, Young Thug, Metro Boomin and Travis Scott, makes its entry at number 23.
Among the other albums that find a place on the list, the one from gala 6 of Operación Triunfo stands out at number 36, already accumulating up to 5 within the top 100 (only the one from gala 2 has been left out this week). Also entering are Christian Thielemann and his ‘New Year’s Concert 2024’ (#54), Gorka Urbizu with ‘Hasiera Bat’ (#62), The Strokes with ‘Is This It’ (#81), Helloween and their ‘ Pink Bubbles Go Ape’ (#85) and Delaporte with ‘Here and Now’ (#93). Nudozurdo only managed to reach the vinyl list (15th place) with their return after 6 years, ‘Clarividencia’.
