Cassie reaches an agreement with Diddy after denouncing him for abuse

This Friday the news broke that R&B singer Cassie had sued Diddy for rape, physical and psychological abuse, and sex trafficking, among other crimes. In the lawsuit obtained by The New York Times, Cassie accused Sean Combs of abusing her for years and raping her in 2018. Epic Records, Bad Boy Entertainment, Bad Boy Records LLC, Combs Enterprises LLC and 10 “Doe Corporations” are also cited in the lawsuit.

However, as soon as the news came to light, Cassie and Diddy announced that they had reached an agreement. Both parties have sent a statement. Says Cassie: “I’ve decided to resolve this amicably, as I have some level of control. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their support.” As for Diddy, she said: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Her team indicates that she will not be commenting further.

In the complaint, Cassie said that she met Diddy in 2005 or 2006, when she was 19 years old and he was 37, and that Diddy began abusing her shortly after Cassie signed a deal with his record label for the release of ten albums. Since 2006, Cassie has only released one official studio album, through Bad Boy Entertainment, Diddy’s label.

Cassie said that, over the course of a year, Diddy took control of her life and career, and began to “control every aspect of her life” personally or through his companies. In 2010, Cassie claims that Sean Combs was financially responsible for his residence, transportation, clothing and vacations, among other things.

In one of the episodes described in the lawsuit, Cassie says that Diddy invited himself to her birthday party and that he kissed her without her consent. She also claims that the rapper repeatedly provided her with drugs and that he coerced her to take them, and that he even recorded her while he did so. Regarding the accusation of sex trafficking, Cassie claims that Diddy forced her to perform sexual acts with sex workers in various hotels in the country.

In the text, Cassie describes that Diddy physically attacked her “several times a year” leaving her “with wounds all over her body,” and that his abuse has left her with lasting psychological scars.
