Cariño is preparing the release of her third album for sometime in 2024. The ‘Tanto por hacer’ tour will include material from this new album and from the previous ones, ‘Movidas’ (2018) and ‘CARIÑO’ (2022), and will begin next November, extending until the first months of 2025.
The first preview of Cariño’s third album, ‘Nada importa tanto’, was another success, and this is again the case with the new single, ‘b2b’, the Song Of The Day for today, Friday.
‘b2b’ may be one of Cariño’s most sparkling productions. She achieves this by mixing a hard-hitting punk-pop rhythm, more Avril Lavigne than Sum 41, with the obligatory autotune-filtered vocals, and lyrics that you won’t be able to sing in one sitting without choking.
B2b or “back to back” is the practice of two DJs playing together, alternating the mixing of songs. Cariño uses this concept, recently explored by Charli XCX, to talk about love and desire: “I propose a b2b / You get on top of me / And then I get on top of you / And we record it on a CD” is the cute phrase in the chorus. Pronounced “cee-dee” in English.
The energy of b2b is always jubilant. She gives her lover, Cariño, “five stars” and any “competition” that there may be against her slips away. The music, on the other hand, aims for unfiltered positivity. There are no cracks or dark meanings in ‘b2b’.
