Macao Canteca They come back to life to celebrate twenty years since the release of what was their first self-produced work, “Cachai?”.
Canteca de Macao were born in Madrid as a musical project that, after some first concerts and a first demo, began to take shape. From there they grew without even having a contract. Many record companies approached them as an example of an authentic, effervescent, multicultural scene in which fusion was essential. That’s how they decided to release a debut, “Cachai?”which would have more than half a million digital downloads in addition to selling four thousand physical copies at its own concerts. Pioneers and visionaries of the transformation of the music industry, the band made their mission to share their art directly and without intermediaries, relying against the current on the rise of the Internet and with a message that resonated with an entire generation.
After a career that lasted for years and that also led them to publish up to six albums and tour the most diverse stages. Finally, in 2017 they disbanded with a farewell tour before starting their solo projects. But Canteca de Macao will return in 2025 to celebrate their twentieth anniversary, maintaining their discourse, their sound and their energy at a time when they are more relevant than ever.
There will be several concerts on this tour, although for now the first date that has been announced will be in Madrid, specifically on Saturday, February 15 at the Iboga Festival, which will be held at the Ifema venue in Madrid.
