CalaPop in Mijas, the penultimate party of the summer

He September 6th and 7th It is celebrated in Mijas Costa (Malaga) a new edition of the CalaPop. A date for true song collectors and this year the Italians The Peawees, Kurt Baker and the Malaga-based Briatore will headline a programme from sunrise to sunset.

CalaPop is the natural heir to Fuengirola Pop Weekend, two emblems of sixtie culture in Andalusia and what they have come to call Resistencia Sonora on the Costa del Sol. From Airbag to Lori Meyers, from Cooper or Doctor Explosión to The Muffs or The Yum Yums have all been part of these sixteen editions.

He CalaPop 2024 will be held on Friday 6th and Saturday September 7th. The bulk of the programme will take place at El Charcón Beach (Mijas Costa). But there will also be activities at Café Teatro by Ocean Drive and Discoteca Maxy (Fuengirola). Two days of immersion in those sounds evocative of other times and other places and ranging from power pop to garage or sunshine pop.
