In the weeks prior to the celebration of Bilbao BBK Live, Herrian (“in the town”) is held again. What will be the second edition will take place in the town of Sondika on June 15. The project was born from the union of the BBK Foundation and the Creative Industries Foundation, with an “unwavering commitment to music, culture and diversity.” The concerts are free access.
Among the artists who have just been confirmed are Cala Vento, Chill Mafia, María Escarmiento and El Último Vecino. There will also be proposals as recommended as that of GAZZI; power trio The Lizards; Korrontzi, which was born with the aim of modernizing the Basque tradition with trikitixa, txalaparta or alboka; Alejo (under the influence of Navarrese rock, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones); and the singer, actress, drag artist and activist Yogurinha Borova.
Others confirmed for Herrian are Suave, Sarria, Alai and rapper Xsakara. According to a press release, “this social project is consolidated with the objective of creating a unique experience that transcends the limits of the festival and becomes a catalyst for social change, promoting the participation of the entire population and providing value to the community in the that impacts. Herrian also arrives to connect music beyond the borders of Bilbao, bringing with him a cultural offer to localities that are often limited in their access to cultural events in the capital. And all this, within the framework of an accessible and sustainable event.
