Mujeres, El Diablo de Shanghai, El Último Vecino and a new generation of bands star in an edition that will once again turn Cabo de Palos into one of the essential summer refuges. On August 14 and 15, two days with a plan from dawn to dusk, activities to enjoy the surroundings and completely free access to the concerts.
Try turning off and on again. The phrase belongs to “On/Off”, one of the songs from El Diablo de Shanghai’s latest work, but it also sums up the spirit of Cabo de Pop quite well. Not because it invites silence – it would be absurd in a poster where the guitars have so much weight – but because it proposes a small reboot. Get away for a couple of days from the noise of big cities, the speed with which we consume music and the inertia of macro festivals to enjoy concerts again with your feet almost touching the Mediterranean.
The next August 14 and 15the festival will once again bring together a program where established artists and projects coexist that in a few years will probably occupy the top positions on many posters. Women, The Devil of Shanghai and The Last Neighbor They lead an edition that will also feature The 126, KU!, The Snitches, Mare Carrier and Gray Wakein addition to the sessions of Cucaña and disappear. A selection that once again demonstrates Cabo de Pop’s nose for discovering artists before they stop being artists.
The experience, however, begins long before the first concert and continues when the amplifiers are turned off. Cabo de Pop once again makes Cabo de Palos an essential part of the festival with a parallel program that invites you to discover the environment from another perspective: diving, snorkeling, paddle surfing, light sailing or the now traditional visits to the lighthouse are part of a proposal that understands leisure and free time as a natural extension of music.
This link with the territory also translates into a commitment to sustainability. This year’s edition incorporates informative activities promoted by the OCEAMMUR project, in addition to initiatives such as the Los Tesoros del Mar Menor family gymkhana and Oyster Garden, developed by the Spanish Institute of Oceanography and ANSE to bring the ecological recovery projects of the Mar Menor closer to the public.
Perhaps that is why Cabo de Pop continues to occupy its own place on the summer calendar. Because it does not aspire to offer more, but to offer better. A weekend to change pace without giving up volume. What was said: On/Off.
