The Goya Awards nominations were announced today, December 18, while the world of cinema in Spain continues to mourn the unexpected departure of Marisa Paredes.
With 14 nominations, ‘El 47’ by Marcel Barrena is the favorite at the Goya awards ceremony, which takes place on February 8. It is followed by ‘The Infiltrator’ by Arantxa Echevarría with 13 nominations, ‘Second Prize’ by Isaki Lacuesta and Pol Rodríguez with 11 and ‘The Room Next Door’ by Pedro Almodóvar with 10 nominations.
In the Best Song category, Maria Arnal competes for ‘La Virgen Roja’, Alondra Bentley & Isaki Lacuesta for ‘Segundo Premio’, Valeria Castro for ‘El 47’ and C. Tangana, who also receives his first Goya nomination as director of ‘The flamenco guitar of Yerai Cortés’, in the documentary section. ‘Show Me’ by Fernando Velázquez for ‘Buffalo Kids’ is the fifth song nominated.
