Tate McRae is on the cover of the new edition of Gen V, V Magazine's supplement, and the surprise is that V Magazine has gotten Britney Spears to interview the Canadian superstar. Britney is still retired from the music industry, but she wanted to pop her head in to chat with Tate, for many, her natural successor given that her proposal mixes pop music and choreography. McRae has cited Spears several times as one of her biggest influences.
Although Gen V promises that in the interview, McRae and Spears talk about their own experiences within the music industry, Spears' questions are so non-specific that anyone could have asked them. Plus, the interview is one-way, not a conversation between the two superstars, so it ends up not being too revealing. Rather, it seems like a procedure.
Spears asks McRae “What inspires you?”, “What made you write 'you broke me first'?”, “How did you fall in love with music and dance?” and “What is the hardest part of being such a popular artist?” And Tate answers what she has probably already answered in dozens of other interviews over the last year.
For example, in an interview with JENESAISPOP, McRae already talked about her beginnings in the world of dance. “When I was a child I spent a lot of time in my mother's dance studio, watching the dancers,” she explained. «I didn't think so much about music but about dancing. She danced all the time. I remember becoming obsessed with certain songs, she would listen to them over and over and dance to them for my mother. When I was two or three years old I remember having that desire to sing and dance.
Tate McRae has just brought her 'Think Later' tour to Spain. In Madrid he has unleashed madness in Vistalegre proving to be a real “bull” on stage. 'greedy', for its part, remains in Spotify's global top 50, becoming one of the biggest hits of recent years.
