Brian Wilson will release an album in 2025, although it is not what you expect. Wilson – leader of the Beach Boys – will pull the archives rescuing the recordings of a project that he started in the early 1970s and that he abandoned before finishing it. It is a country music album that will feature Fred Vail, manager of the Beach Boys, on vocals, and Wilson on production.
Wilson and Veil began working on ‘Cows in the Pasture’ around the time the Beach Boys recorded their 1970 album ‘Sunflower’. They came to outline 14 songs, but Wilson lost interest in the project and the album has been kept in a drawer for five decades. Rolling Stone confirms that ‘Cows in the Pasture’ will finally be released next year.
‘Cows in the Pasture’ will be accompanied by a documentary that will tell the story of Fred Vail and the creation of his country album produced by Brian Wilson. Curiously, Wilson proposed to Vail to record a roots album even though the manager has never sung or studied singing. ‘Cows in the Pasture’ is currently in production.
