Brian Molko, accused of defamation by an Italian court

The soap opera of Brian Molkosinger and guitar Placeboversus the Italian government continues. After being sued by Prime Minister, she has now been accused of defamation by Turin prosecutors.

Almost two years ago, British artist Brian Molko said from the stage, in his performance at the festival Sonic Park of Turin That the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was “a piece of shit, fascist and racist.” The result was a demand by Meloni that remains in process. But now another step has been taken by the Prosecutor’s Office that takes the case.

The prosecutors who are working in the case have just accused Molko for defamation for starring in “contempt of institutions,” the Italian media reports. The fact is that this crime can be punished with a fine of up to 5,000 euros and be subject to trial. This category includes to defame the Government, Parliament, the Italian courts or army.

The American medium Pitchfork has contacted the placebo representatives, but for now there are no official statements in this regard.
