He prestigious manufacturer of Swiss speaker systems Boenicke Audio has just launched its Cente central speakerr to expand its meticulous proposal in exceptional sound to the universe of Home Cinema. Taking as a conceptual starting point the technology used in the celebrated W8 column of the Swiss firm, the Center is a compact and stylized system of 2 way/3 speakers that combines a wide band transducer 75 mm through-hole, specialized in the high zone of the spectrum, with two midwoofers Equipped with a custom-made treated paper cone and 102 mm wooden platter, in order to obtain a wide, precise and deep bass response in equal parts.
Equipped with the characteristic natural wood enclosure with computer optimized internal maze from Boenicke Audio, the Center incorporates a series of unique solutions developed by the team led by Sven Boenicke, the charismatic founder of the brand, which make it a product that is simply different as well as incredibly musical. Thus, the midrange speakers include a first order low pass filter, to which exclusive engineering elements are added to optimize its key parameters. For its part, the wide passband transducer is complemented by a first order high pass filtercombined with one of the firm’s exclusive parallel electromechanical resonators (in this case copper/gold).
Other elements that reflect the ultrapurist orientation of this speaker are the use of a internal cable with direction to preserve the integrity of the sound message down to its smallest details, as well as the six feet with springs intended to “suspend” the enclosure from the mounting surface. Available in ash and oak finishes with black pigmentation, the Center is the perfect complement to any audiovisual set structured around the highly refined models of the Boenicke Audio W8 Series.
