Bob Mold could resurrect the original Sugar

Just a few weeks before Bob Mold visit our country with your “Bob Mold Solo Electric Tour”some American media talk about the possibility of bringing together the Sugar originals.

Bob Mold is a legend of American punk rock and independent rock, first as a staple of Hüsker Dülater as leader of Sugar and later with an extensive solo career with several indispensable albums. In fact, he will be performing in the Sala Estraperlo in Badalona on November 8 at 9:00 p.m. as an artist at Curtcircuit. With a total of fifteen albums under his belt, Mold recently released his new album “Here We Go Crazy”the star album of their current tour. You can buy your ticket through this link here.

But the news is that, although he has performed the songs of “Copper Blue” on some occasions with his current musicians (Jason NarducyVerbow, Sunny Day Real Estateetc. – and Jon Wurster -Superchunk, The Mountain Goats…), including the celebration of thirty years of its launch in 2022, its activity on social networks suggests that the three original Sugars could return sooner than we expect.

Sugar were active between February 1992 and January 1995, leaving a brief legacy but one that had a lot of impact on the indie rock scene with “Copper Blue”the mini-EP “Beaster” and a second long one called “File Under Easy Listening”. In addition to Bob Mold, the group included bassist David Barbe and the drummer Malcolm Travis. The news has arisen because a new public Instagram @sugarcopperblue has been created on which some short videos without text have been posted. And among the followers on the account are, precisely, Barbe and Travis.
