Bob Dylan continues to expand its well -known series of compilations ‘The Bootleg Series’ with a new release, and the 18th, which will cover its first recordings and will be edited on October 31 in several physical editions: 8CD Deluxe, 2CD and 4LP Highlights.
‘Through The Open Window’ will gather recordings from Dylan registered between 1956 and 1963, from its adolescent stage in Minnesota to its period in the Greenwich Village in the first 60. The collection will include very informal recordings, such as concerts in clubs, rehearsals, Jam sessions or performances in friends apartments. Some recordings are “extremely rare” and others had never been published in any way.
‘Through The Open Window’ nothing will be left in the inkwell: the luxury edition (8CD) has 139 tracks, of which 48 are unpublished presentations so far, plus 38 super rare cuts. The last two CDS of the Set Deluxe contain the complete (until now unpublished) recording of the concert in Carnegie Hall of October 26, 1963, mixed from the original tapes.
‘Rocks and GraioL’, the first advance of ‘Through the Open Window’, is a discard of 1962, of the sessions of ‘The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan ‘in New York.
The physical edition of ‘Through The Open Window’, in addition, will be launched with a hardcover book with Extensive Notes by Sean Wilentz (125 pages) and more than 100 rare photographs.
