Blood Orange premieres songs, one with Lorde, Polachek and Mustafa

Finally, Blood Orange has announced the arrival of a new album. This is titled ‘Essex Honey’ and it is the first LP of Dev Hynes from ‘Negro Swan’, in 2018.

The new length comes out on August 29, including ‘The Field’ with two new advances, which are revealed today: ‘Somowhere in Between’ and ‘Mind Loaded’. The latter has invited voices such as Caroline Polachek, Lorde and Mustafa.

The list of collaborations of ‘Essex Honey’ is as follows, according to Hynes himself: «Cæcilie Trier, Caroline Poachek, Tirzah, Mabe Fratti, Mustafa, Brendan Yates (Turnstile), Lorde, Eva Tolkin, Ian Isiah, Liam Benzvi, Tariq al-Sabir, Zadie Smith, Charlotte Dos Santos, Daniel Caesar, The Durutti Column and more ».

The British artist gave the news with an enigmatic video on Instagram: “I have made an album,” he wrote in the publication. «I remember being at home a few months later, listening to Sufjan’s ‘Fourth of July’ on my computer. And I remember how comforting music can be. The loss he had suffered, combined with this feeling, took me back to a beginning, ”you can read in the video.

In the background, images of the streets of London and Hynes working on music. This also advances that ‘Essex Honey’ will talk about “Pena, England, Youth and Music.” The first single from the album, the exciting ‘The Field’, just tried “the people we miss when we closed our eyes.”
