Billy Corgan, leader of the legendary group The Smashing Pumpkins, has announced that he will celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’ in a special concert in Madrid. This will take place next Friday, September 11 at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid.
After performing seven sold-out performances last year in Chicago, Corgan will present the show ‘A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness’ in Europe this year. Thus, one of the most influential albums of the 90s will be revisited with new arrangements and orchestrations by James Lowe and Billy Corgan, creating a show that will fuse rock, opera, orchestra and choir.
“Both opera and rock tell stories of heightened emotion, and I’m excited for fans of my music and traditional opera to hear some truly inspired work, as the balance here is to honor both traditions in a masterful way,” Corgan said. The show will be two hours long, with intermission included.
Tickets will be available this Thursday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at mitaquilla.com, Palaciovistalegre.com, ventas.com and El Corte Inglés. ‘A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness’ will also pass through London, Antwerp and Paris.
