A few days ago it was announced that a concert would be held in California on January 30 to benefit the victims of the fires. At least 25 people have died and more than 200,000 have had to be evacuated from their homes.
The line-up was just announced and it’s packed with today’s superstars like Billie Eilish, Gracie Abrams, Lil Baby and Tate McRae; more veterans like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani and P!nk; and even more veterans like Sting or Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell themselves. There will be no shortage of rock groups either, and on the bill we see Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The event can be seen through platforms such as YouTube, Apple TV, Paramount+, Netflix, Prime Video, Spotify or Soundcloud, among many others. As you can see, the idea is to make it accessible to everyone. Tickets for the show go out on January 22, but as tickets are expected to fly, viewers will be able to donate.
The fires have caused several artists to cancel concerts, such as The Weeknd; advertisements and releases, such as NIN and Beyoncé; and that some events have been postponed, such as the reading of Oscar nominees.
