Bernabéu noise problem will continue in March, according to experts

Last week, Real Madrid announced the suspension of all concerts scheduled at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium until March 2025, affecting Aitana, Lola Indigo and DELLAFUENTE. At the moment, only the author of ‘alpha’ has announced new dates: June 27 and 28, 2025. However, according to El Diario, the problem may not be over in March.

The complaints from neighbours about the noise finally bore fruit with the postponement of the shows, but neither they nor the artists affected are certain that the situation will change next March. According to the experts consulted by the digital media, in six months “the problem will not have been solved.”

Not only that, but “they will most likely continue to think about how to solve it,” says Daumal i Domènech, acoustic consultant, judicial expert and professor at the Barcelona School of Architecture.

The same document offers three possibilities for holding a concert at the Santiago Bernabéu. The first is to maintain an enclosure with openings, the second would be to turn the Bernabéu into a “closed box” and the third is “the sound and thermal insulation of the affected neighbours in their own homes”.

However, Daumal clarifies that “solutions are very difficult to materialise” and that reducing noise to legal levels is “almost impossible”. Regarding the third option, he also mentions the “social component” of the problem: “Rejection may also come, in part, from the fact that we do not like the type of people from which the noise comes,” he concludes.
