Beef between some members of Fontaines DC and Oasis, and others not

Fontaines DC have been tiring of comparisons with Oasis, especially at certain points in their career, due to the way Grian Chatten delivered certain Liam Gallagher-like notes. In an interview with Studio Brussel, two of its members said they would pass on their reunion when asked about it.

“I don’t give a shit, to be honest,” said Carlos O’Connell. And Conor Deegan III added: “I’m not thrilled either. I think we’ve gotten stuck in the last era, like the 2010s, and that nostalgic point makes us forget to do new things.”

He continued, probably referring to the alternative production given to songs like ‘Motorcycle Boy’: “What we want to do with our ‘Romance’ album is look to the future and do new things. So, for Oasis to get back together at this time is a pain for us.”

Oasis have been quick to respond. Well, Liam Gallagher has been quick to respond. The news has been picked up by NME and someone has pointed it out to Liam on social media.

His response was: “Fuck you little spunkbubbles” (translation here). I’ve seen ROADIES better dressed.” When someone pointed out that Fontaines DC are really good, Liam’s response was: “well they look like a fucking EMF.”

In a comment on NME’s Instagram, Grian Chatten wanted to distance himself from the controversy: “This does not reflect my opinion. I love Oasis.” So, only Noel Gallagher remains to speak out.
