The Biscayan quartet PI LT releases the second single from his new album, which will be released in the coming months.
PI LT presents us with the second song from their new album, the first since their fifth studio album, which was released 20 years ago. “Banpiroak” is a “raw and energetic song that reflects on the image we project (or not) on social media. Is it our A-side… or is it the B-side?” As in the case of “Garai honetan” (In this era), the first single released in March, it was recorded, mixed and mastered at Koba Studios in Bilbao, with production by the band itself.
After several reunions since 2017 to get on stage and review their legendary songs, PI LT have returned to the studio for the first time since their fifth album “Game over” (2004), which closed their discography. According to them, “it is an exercise in honesty and also the fruit of creating together again 20 years later. How could the return of a group like PILT be after so much time? What could we sing about? What can we contribute?… The four members have had a long journey since we stopped working together and the accumulated experience both musically and personally is immense. We are not the young people of then, we are parents, we belong to the generation that holds the positions of power… but our desire to create and to say things is intact. That is precisely what this song reflects, the need for calm in the face of the vicious circle that, without being able to understand it, we have to explain to those who precede us in this era in which the helm is in our hands.”
