Backengrillen, life after Refused

The quartet, who already gave a concert in 2023, will publish their self-titled debut album next January 23 through the seal Svart Records. According to what they have announced, the album will bring together influences as diverse as The Cramps, Little Richard, Albert Ayler, Polly Bradfield, Entombed, John Zorn, Misfits, Stooges, Lars Gullin and Can. According to the band, they explained in a statement: “Our music is a hymn to chaos and destruction.” “The idea is to take a metal or noise rock riff, play it until it makes no sense, and then rip it apart like a hungry cat would a mouse.”

Backgrillen has already presented the first preview of the album, “A Hate Inferior”, a ten-minute piece that combines the chaos of punk with the radical improvisation of jazz and the characteristic screams of Lyxzen. For now, the single is available exclusively on bandcamp.
