‘Baby Doll’, the song that Kylie Minogue wrote for Prince, is leaked

After 32 years closely guarded, the collaboration between Prince and Kylie Minogue has finally seen the light. ‘Baby Doll’ was written by the Australian artist and recorded by the author of ‘Purple Rain’ between April and May 1992 in Sydney, during the ‘Diamonds And Pearls’ tour. It is now available on YouTube.

In the early ’90s, Kylie Minogue went to a Prince concert in London and proposed working together. This is what the singer said in an interview with Zane Lowe in 2020: «We hung out together and he put me in a bind. He said, ‘So where are your lyrics?’ The Australian “didn’t even write songs back then.” The day he least expected it, a tape arrived with the Prince recording that we can listen to today.

‘Baby Doll’ could very well have ended up being part of a complete project, but her label avoided it: “I suggested it to them and I think Prince would have liked to do it all, but not them,” the singer revealed. According to The Sun newspaper, which claims to have spoken with a close source, the artist would be “as baffled as everyone else about the origin of the leak.”

«Any leak is annoying, but it’s good for fans that they finally know what the mysterious song sounds like. God knows they’ve waited long enough. As for what happens now, if anything happens, fans will have to wait and see,” they add.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyDixuuqXA0
