Alice Cooper and Social Distortion will be the two main headliners of the next edition of the Azkena Rock Festival. Although we can also see other big names like Imelda Maythose gathered Sugar either Jason Isbell & The 400 Unitto name a few.
The twenty-fourth edition of Azkena Rock Festival will take place in Mendizabala (Vitoria-Gasteiz) among the June 18, 19 and 20 of next year. And now we know that the main headliners will be Alice Cooper – who will return to the festival seventeen years after his last visit – and Social Distortion – who, for their part, will repeat at the Azkena four years after their previous participation –, although there will be much more and styles ranging from rockabilly to indie rock, through punk, hardcore, Americana or pure and direct rock’n’roll.
We will start by saying that Imelda May will offer an exclusive concert reviewing her career with guitarist Darrel Highman. But among the rest of the artists we are going to find Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Old Crow Medicine Show, Sleaford Mods, Sugar, The Adicts, Evaristo (La Polla Records, Gatillazo, Tropa do Carallo), Circle Jerks, Corrosion of Conformity, Therapy?, The Damn Truth, The Del Fuegos, Discharge, Split Dogs, Starbenders, Tropical Fuck Storm, Voivod, Rodeo and Nhil.
It should be noted that The Del Fuegos join these first confirmations after their meeting last year and with the brothers Dan and Warren Zanes at the forefront, being the second author of the official biography of Tom Petty and of the essay that inspired the recent inspired biopic of Bruce Springsteen, “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere”.
The exclusive pre-sale for attendees of other editions of ARF will start tomorrow, Wednesday the 29th, while the general sale will begin on Tuesday, November 4th at 10am. The festival will once again feature organized bus trips with a stop next to the entrance to the venue and from nearby towns such as Bilbao, Pamplona, Donostia/San Sebastián, Zarautz, Arrasate and Alsasua.
