Ava Max, the “worse managed artist in history”, everything long

«When appropriate, I will tell everything. At the moment, ‘Don’t Click Play’ ». This is the message that has appeared in Ava Max’s networks while finally published by his new album, whose title there are those who are interpreting as a rebellion against his label.

Ava Max has not expected much to tell everything, because simultaneously an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone has been published in which he tells everything. Or we believe today.

The artist talks about how hard it has been to change management, and feel betrayed by two of her closest people: Circut, her ex-boyfriend, producer and right hand, and Madison Love, her former friend and co-author. These have initiated a relationship together by breaking Circut and Ava Max, apparently portrayed in the single ‘spot a fake’, which in the end has been discarded from this ‘Don’t Click Play’.

Ava Max does not speak explicitly about them, but at all avoids them: «I have made this album because I wanted to show that I can do the album of my dreams without my last collaborators. I know that my fans know what happened: I was betrayed and my heart broke. It really hurt me ». It opens about how bad it has happened, even crying for weeks. He says that “he almost lost herself.” «I couldn’t enter a study without crying, it took me a month and a half to be recording without him. But in the end I found a couple of incredible producers to work with and we are as a family ».

The artist also recognizes having disappeared after an performance of July 4 that was “uncomfortable”, and acknowledges having been depressed. “I had to step back because I was trying to content everyone.” But he says he feels better in these last weeks, and wanting to prepare the tour, which ensures postponed, not canceled.

Regarding its seal, it is grim in words (“I cannot control the way my music is promoted. I can control what I do”), but leaves another tremendous headline when he recognizes himself as “the largest artist worse managed in history.” “This is how it feels, that is said in comments,” he adds.

Putting everything, Ava Max also talks about why the new homonym single ‘Don’t Click Play’ mentions that they have compared it both with Lady Gaga, to the point of looking “a sample of his.” «Comments above all have been crazy. And constant. That’s why I have put them in ‘Don’t Click Play’. It was important for me (…) I never put anyone in my music. It is empowerment to unite the two fans bases ».

Finally, Ava Max clarifies that ‘Don’s Click Play’ is not an invitation not to listen to the album, precisely: «People are confused about the title. It means “do not give the play if you do not want, because in the end, I have done this album just to show me that I could do it.” At another point he says: «I am the reason that there is ‘Sweet But Psycho’ and ‘Kings & Queens’. Because I put my story in them and worked hard on them. Many people believe I couldn’t make a pop song without my collaborators.
