Austria wins Eurovision 2025; Spain, last last

Spain has celebrated tonight the grand final of its 2025 edition in Basel, Switzerland. Austria has won thanks to the live video clip of JJ and the fusion of opera and techno of ‘Wasted Love’, which has obtained 436 votes of jury and public. Israel, despite the genocide committed on Palestinian soil by its government, has been in second place with 357 votes, 297 from the Televoto, of which 12 have come from Spain.

The second position of Israel is a jug of cold water for anyone who has condemned the presence of this country at the festival and questioned the alleged neutrality of the Uuer. During a brief section of the voting, the Israeli bet – channeled by a survivor of October 7 – was first threatened closely by Estonia, who has been one of the public’s great favorites and has received from this 258 points, until he positioned himself in third place. Tommy Cash, from Charli XCX to third in Eurovision.

Spain has remained in the last place, exactly as Nebulsa last year, only behind Iceland and San Marino, not having convinced the jury and having received only 10 votes from the audience. He has added 37 votes in total. ‘That diva’ was brave, powerful and very Spanish, but it has not even been enough to improve last year’s position. Melody, yes, has eaten the stage as only she knows.

Top 10:

Austria 436
Israel 357
Estonia 356
Sweden 321
Italy 256

Greece 231
France 230
Albania 218
Ukraine 218
Switzerland 214

Sweden, one of the great favorites of the bets thanks to the Kaj sauna, has finished fourth, and has surprised his warm reception in the jury: he has been able to scratch points of one country or another, but he has only received the “12 points” by Iceland. Other disappointments have been the televoto null to Denmark, despite Sissal’s dance. Switzerland, the host country, has also received 0 votes from the public, but has ended in 10th place thanks to the jury. The United Kingdom has been less luck: 0 points of the televoto – for the second consecutive year – and 88 of the jury have taken him to the 19th position.

Despite the “mother” harangues in Finland, Erika’s despiporre has failed to reach Top 10 and has been in 11th position. The positions for the Mediterranean Drama of Greece (6), the Baladón de France (7), the ethnic-technical rhythm of Albania (8), the pop-glam of Ukraine (9) and, above all, the beautiful ballad of Switzer (10). Jury and public have also understood the ritualistic-modern proposal of Latvia (13) and the Tecno of Germany (15). Above all, the feeling has weighed above the Pepinazo: 7 songs of the Top 10 are ballads or half times.

Melody’s performance

Spain has acted in sixth place, with a melody delivered to its role since it has broken into the St. Jakobshalle de Basilea (Switzerland) enclosure with the rest of the participants.

The presentation of ‘ESE Diva’ of Melody has improved the view in the first semifinal, although the passage of the scenario on stage, which coincides with the entrance of the chorus of ‘ESA diva’, has left too many seconds of flat to an empty curtain. However, Melody has eaten the stage without any glimpse of doubt and, vocally, he has given everything. Fortunately, he has embroidered the final pirouette. Except for some change of plan, such as that of the kiss to the public, very Marilyn, the performance has not admitted too many changes with respect to the view in the second semifinal.

Melody has abandoned the stage but not before making his famous helicopter, a wink to the original performance of ‘Es diva’ seen in Benidorm Fest and that led him to victory. The step that promised that he was going to do in the revolt, however, has not fit. Even so, congratulations to Melody for the excellent work and for the great campaign he has starred and that has made us so happy.

RTVE does not harass before the Uuer

RTVE has preceded its Eurovision broadcast by issuing a message in which it has proclaimed that “in the face of human rights, silence is not an option, peace and justice for Palestine.” RTVE has responded in this way to the warning of the UU, which has threatened the public chain with “punitive fines” if the Spanish commentators again mentioned the Gaza conflict during the broadcast of the gala, despite the fact that Tony Aguilar and Julia Varela, during their introduction of Israel in the second semifinal, were limited to counting some facts without positioning themselves without positioning themselves.

We invite you to comment on the gala in the Jnesaispop forums.
