Audiolab, one of the brands that most successfully reflects the essence of what is known as “British sound” and exceptional quality/price ratio in High End audio, has just announced the launch of two products that complete the most exclusive of the proposals in its catalogue, the 9000 Series: the stereo preamplifier with DAC 9000Q and the stereo power stage 9000P. After the success achieved by the 9000A stereo integrated amplifier with DAC, the 9000CDT transport mechanics and the 9000N network music player from the company founded by Philip Swift and Derek Scotland in 1983, these two electronics represent a perfect option for those who need to attack particularly demanding loudspeakers with authority. Equipped with the aesthetic characteristics of the Audiolab “9000” models and designed by the prestigious Jan Ertnerthe 9000Q stands out for the careful with which its key subsystems have been tuned.
It is the case of the phono circuitrycompatible with moving magnet (MM) capsules and based on a single stage configured in Class A, or of the power supplyin which a custom-made toroidal transformer ensures greater current delivery capacity and the consequent improvement in terms of dynamic behavior and response control. Logically, the DAC section has been very cared for, standing out in it a ES9038PRO D/A conversion “chip” from the American ESS Technology, whose exceptional technical characteristics are suitable to reproduce the complex micro-information contained in high-resolution recordings. Also the versatility of use has been carefully considered, with new tonality adjustments (treble and bass, with adjustments of +/-6 dB in 2 dB steps), a extensive provision of connections (balanced stereo pair, PC-USB and Bluetooth included), a headphone jack with dedicated amplifier and the beautiful and unmistakable full-color TFT display screen, which is one of the main hallmarks of the Audiolab 9000 Series.
With an aesthetic matching that of the 9000Q, of which it is the natural complement, the 9000P stereo power amplifier is an electronic device equipped with a exit section in Class ABexecuted with discrete components of audiophile gradewhich allows you to deliver a continuous power 100 watts per channel into 4 ohms or 160 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Furthermore, the possibility of configuration in monophonic mode bridged (300 watts continuous into 8 ohms or 380 watts continuous into 4 ohms) puts a perfect tool either to provide sound in large rooms, or to improve the overall performance of your audio system. Of the engineering behind this amplifier, we must especially highlight the Complementary Feedback topology or CFB, which enhances linearity and thermal stability, as well as a power block consisting of a 320 VA encapsulated toroidal transformer and a capacitor bank with a total capacity of 60,000 uF, which guarantee (the maximum output current is 15A) a firm “grip” of the music, preserving all its richness of tonal nuancesdynamic and atmospheric.
