Ariana Grande’s plans to revive ‘Eternal Sunshine’

Ariana Grande’s ‘Eternal Sunshine’ is turning out to be one of the biggest hits of 2024, but perhaps not as resoundingly as expected. According to Mediatraffic, 1.5 million copies have been sold, and the album is holding up in the charts in a more or less decent manner.

After 17 weeks, we find it at number 32 on the Billboard 200, around the top 50 in the UK, and at number 38 in a country like Spain. Not bad, the album has not failed and continues to move 50,000 units per week globally, but it has not held up on the charts as well as some of his other works.

Having proven that the remix of ‘the boy is mine’ will not be able to eclipse the good development of ‘we can’t be friends’, which remains around the top 20 of Spotify’s Global Charts and is definitely the big hit of this era, far above ‘yes, and?’, plans have been revealed this week.

As reported by Billboard, Ariana Grande has stated in a podcast that she understood that ‘eternal sunshine’ was “perfect as it was”, but that as the weeks have passed, she has continued writing, and is leaning towards making a deluxe version. “I’m really tempted to hit the creative button on this story, and I have a lot of ideas.”

Of course, this deluxe version won’t be released anytime soon, but it still needs some work to be done to make it make sense and not harm the finished product. Can we guess it’s coming out for Christmas?

On the other hand, the artist is considering giving some concerts between the promotion of the two ‘Wicked’ films she has worked on. It would be something on a small scale rather than a big tour, but something she does not want to give up in order to bring her latest songs to life. The first part of ‘Wicked’ is expected in November 2024, so we would be talking about a show in 2025.
