Ariana Grande, No. 1 in Spain with ‘Petal’

Ariana Grande debuts at number 1 album in Spain with ‘Petal’. It is the artist’s first number 1 in our country, after having fallen short several times with her previous albums.

In Spain, ‘Petal’ enters directly at number 1, ahead of Quevedo, who drops to 2 with ‘El Baifo’, and Bad Bunny, who falls to 3 with ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’.

‘Sweetener’ and ‘Dangerous Woman’ had already reached number 1 in Spain, so ‘Petal’ is Ariana Grande’s third album to reach the top of the Spanish chart. In between, ‘Eternal Sunshine’ stayed at number 2 and is certified with 40,000 copies, while ‘Thank U, Next’ reached number 3 and ‘Positions’ reached number 5.

In the United States, ‘Petal’ has also debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 with 295,000 equivalent units. Of these, 168,000 correspond to pure album sales. It is Ariana Grande’s 7th number 1 in the United States and her second best sales week, both in total units and pure sales. In addition, he has sold 96,000 vinyls, the best week of his career in this format.

With this new number 1, Grande ties Janet Jackson and Lady Gaga as the solo artists with the fifth most albums that have reached number 1 on the Billboard 200.

But the success of the album goes further. ‘Petal’ has also been number 1 in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, as well as topping the Australian vinyl chart. It is Ariana’s sixth No. 1 album in these three markets.

The Spanish list also leaves two other notable entries. ‘9 Months & 50 Hours’, the collaboration of Fred again.. and Latin Mafia, debuts at number 25. Further down, at number 84, comes the soundtrack of ‘Heated Rivalry’, the television series, signed by Peter Peter.
