Arcade Fire’s new album is not working on the charts, and his reign seems distant. After the Hype created by its first two albums, ‘funeral’ and neon bible, two Sleepers, both ‘The Suburbs’ (2010), and ‘Releckor’ (2013) and ‘Everything Now’ (2017) were number 1 in the United Kingdom or the United States.
Already ‘We’ began to leave more modest results, especially in terms of gold or platinum certifications, and the new ‘Elephant Pink’ is obtaining the worst results of his entire career. It is, remember, the first album published after the accusations of abuse to Win Butler.
‘Pink Elephant’ has only entered the 60th place in his native Canada, from afar, the worst result of Arcade Fire in his land. In the United Kingdom, the streak of 4 consecutive numbers has finished, in albums, and ‘Pink Elephant’ remains in a humble place 18.
In Spain, where Arcade Fire has been Top 2 with two of his albums, ‘The Suburbs’ and ‘Eventhing Now’, and Top 10 up to a total of 4 times, ‘Pink Elephant’ appears in position 49.
The result is so bad at the international level to the point of not appearing the new album in the Billboard 200, when the group has several numbers 1 in the United States. It could even think that perhaps the physical distribution of the length has not occurred, but strangely ‘Pink Elephant’ appears in the vinyl list in the 19th place of that other subtabla in Spain. That is, at least, there has been a limited distribution.
Something confirmed by the UK lists: ‘Pink Elephant’ has reached 7 in vinyl and until position 4 in sales. However, it is not in the streaming top 100, which would mark the disinterest in the project or, on the contrary, a lousy and irregular distribution that would be resolved (or not) in the coming weeks.
