The duo Arab Strap presents his new album “Half-Told Tales” with the release of the single they describe as “disco-metal” “You You You”.
The new album will be released on September 4 through Rock Action Records and will be released almost thirty years after the duo released their first single.
“You You You” is the first preview of this album that Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton They define it as having a “disco-metal” style and with lyrics focused on overcoming “difficult and turbulent moments.” The song starts with a hypnotic rhythm and mixes elements of electronics, a catchy melody, enveloping guitars and the relaxed voice characteristic of Moffat.
“I’ve got a hole in my shoe that lets in rain/ and another new lump in another vein/ I’ve got pills for breakfast every day/ to keep my pains and fears at bay,” he sings in the retro-inspired opening verse, which leads into a hypnotic chorus.
“This year we turned thirty, so we decided to celebrate by doing what we love most: creating new music,” the duo shared, describing the song as a “disco-metal invocation” that conveys a message of “future happiness and togetherness that—fingers crossed—might also make you dance and laugh.”
The new music of Arab Strap It’s the first one since they released the album. “I’m totally fine with it 👍 don’t give a fuck anymore 👍” in 2024.
In addition to presenting new music, Arab Strap has announced a tour of United Kingdom and Europe which will start at the end of this year, with a first date in Dublin he October 12.
