This month, Sala Apolo presents Apología, a new cycle of free sessions in Barcelona where the city listens to itself, giving voice to self-managed groups that experiment and mix disciplines. This new proposal from Sala Apolo is committed to a more decentralized and community scene that encourages the generation of personal networks from the dance floor, focusing on artists who “question, inspire and flourish outside the commercial circuit.”
The new Apolo afternoon will take place on Saturday evenings in room 5 (La Cinc), from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and the first appointment is this November 8. The party Haus of Beat will be in charge of premiering Apología at Apolo this Saturday with the dancey sessions by Eli Kapowski, Artiic and Nesi, which will traverse the history of house music from the classics to their contemporary versions, “from the deepest electronic textures to the most danceable grooves.”
The dates and guests for the following Saturdays of the month are already known. On November 15th it will be the turn of PUSSY!an initiative that vindicates female talent in electronic music and promotes gender equality in a still unequal sector.
Planet Venus will be presented on November 22: it is a collective based in Barcelona that seeks to “build a safe space for feminine energy within the electronic music scene, giving visibility and equal opportunities to artists who explore cosmic and futuristic sounds.”
On the last Saturday of the month, November 29, Apología Sin Sync will take the stage, a “feminist and anti-colonial DJ school that promotes sonic freedom and experimentation without prejudice.”
