If you are looking for prodigious voices, Antía Muíño is your bet. The Galician artist and composer is one of the clearest revelations of the new Galician song, moving between folk-pop, jazz-pop and the traditional music of her land. You start listening for his voice, you stay for his peaceful melodies.
Muíño’s resume, who released her second album at the beginning of 2026, is enviable: she has been part of Baiuca’s live band for more than three years, she won the Martín Códax da Música Galega Award in 2022 as an Emerging Artist, she was an ambassador for Spotify EQUAL in 2022 and she was also chosen by AIE to present her debut in Spain and Morocco in 2023.
‘Anfibia Por Veces’ is the title of their second album, of which the beautiful ‘A Beleza’ stands out, whose title seems almost self-descriptive. In reality, the Galician author is talking about “the natural beauty” of her land, mentioning “the light that invades the afternoon”, “the paths that are yet to be taken” or “the wet stone” of Santiago. However, Muíño’s letter of introduction, never better said, is usually ‘Open Letter’.
This song is the title of the artist’s first album and, at the same time, it is her most popular song. There are reminiscences of folk, in the instrumentation based on acoustic arpeggios, and of jazz, in the vocal performance, but at the end of the day ‘Carta Aberta’ is a delicious classic singer-songwriter song. It’s hard not to fall in love with his voice after listening to it.
This year, Antía Muíño is part of the programming of the Girando Por Salas circuit, created to provide emerging artists with the possibility of playing in venues outside their autonomous community. However, it has allowed the Galician artist to extend the tour she was already on, adding seven more dates to it. The next one is tomorrow, Thursday, May 7, at the Avalón Café in Zamora.
