The Malagueña Anni B Sweet has published “Adiós con Alegría”, the first preview of what will be his next studio album. “Happiness” will arrive in October to represent the return recording of one of the most complete artists of Spanish alternative pop.
“Farewell with Joy” is exemplified precisely in its title. The song explores an emotional state where saying goodbye does not necessarily imply defeat, but rather the possibility of opening up to another perception of things. Written, composed and co-produced by Anni B Sweet herself along with James Bagshaw, leader of Templesthe song finds a balance between melodic delicacy and textural exploration, without giving up the emotional seal that has always characterized the singer.
The creative starting point, declares the artist, has been influenced by the discovery of the surrealist universe of André Breton, whose vision of a more permeable reality also inspires the album’s imagery. This new work will be the fifth of her career and marks a complex personal stage in which the artist seeks new ways of looking at the present.
The return of Anni B Sweet also comes accompanied by several live dates already confirmed, with performances planned at festivals such as 17 Degrees Ribeira Sacra (Lugo) on July 24, Flow Fest (Lugo) September 18 and The Indie Wall from Madrid on September 26.
