Angeladorrrm is the project of a Catalan noise pop band, made up of Ángela, Víctor, Joan and Oriol, who until now had been known for the EP ‘Res dura gaire estona’. There were moments as dreamy as ‘No vull, no puc, no saber’ and others that alternated calm with storm, like ‘Un malson més’. Formula similar to that of the recent ‘No sento’. Big Thief is also added to the influences that noise and shoegaze groups usually cite, that is, Yo La Tengo and My Bloody Valentine.
‘Tinc un desig’, our Song of the Day, is defined as a composition about the desire that moves us to connect with others. In it, Angeladorrrm compiles a list of good wishes that they invoke out loud, hoping that they will come true. The lyrics speak of a repressed desire that is going to be transformed into a song (“I have a desire / it can’t wait / it climbs up my neck and tells me it wants to sing”). It talks about the longing to see someone laugh and to grow next to that someone, who looks at you “as he looks at the sea.”
Tangentially, the torrent of guitars and the crescendo structure of ‘Tinc un desig’ point to their most immediate song of those they have published, and the one that may cause their dreams as a band to also come true.
These days, Angeladorrrm are supporting BODEGA all over the country. Both groups will be today, Friday, October 4, in Donosti, on Saturday, October 5, in Madrid (sold out), on the 7th, in Valencia, and on October 8, in Barcelona.
For their part, BODEGA are presenting the songs from their new album, ‘Our Brand Could Be Yr Life’. Of course, there will be no shortage of classics like the fun ‘Territorial Call of the Female’ or the urgent rock of ‘Statuette on the Console’ from their second album. Nor songs from that deluxe edition of their new album, which they released on November 1 under the name “Brand on the Run” and from which a multitude of songs have been known. Today, without going any further, they release the hummable ‘Myrtle Parade’.
