Amore gives “top hit” in his own ‘i gotta feeling’

Amore, one of the artists associated with the Russia Idk label, and one of the non-tan-descents present in the last album of Amaia Romero, has published these days his record debut. Despite its title and its launch in Sony Music, ‘Top Hits, Ballads, etc.’ It is rather an interesting collection of ideas, a tailor drawer of the experiments of Madrid’s María Moreno Martínez.

These experiments have led Amore to work side by side with Denmark, Mori or Irenegarry and, in the album, they materialize in a sound eclecticism that is expressed in the form of a modern jot pop to oklou (‘delirium’) or new age (‘peel’).

Amore is not resisting pop and one of the outstanding tracks of ‘Top Hits, Ballads, etc.’ He makes his title special: ‘I Gotta Feeling’ is titled as a success of the Black Eyed Peas, but refers to the 2000 Pop and Hip-Hop hybrid.

‘I Gotta Feeling’ sounds as if Amore had tried to write a pop melody on the basis of ‘drop it like it’s hot’ by Snoop Dogg. With echoes also to Timbaland and the ‘Whisper Song’ of the Ying Yang Twins for their use of gasps as percussion, ‘I Gotta Feeling’ anticipates a “love time” and the arrival of heat with luminescent synthesizers, Spanish and English phrases and a contagious spirit of freedom and summer happiness:
«Sweet heat, love time
A feeling, a new day pierced me
Baby, You Know It’s Time for Us
Like You Feel It Coming Out Off Water
Right to your soul

Amore has presented ‘Top Hits, Ballads, etc.’ This year in its Essentials Tour, whose next and last stop is June 16 at the Paqui in Madrid. Tickets are still available.
