Amaarae can’t stop making pop

In 10 days, Amaarae’s new album comes out. ‘Black Star’, by the hand of Interscope, will be the successor of ‘Fountain Baby’ (2023). The singer had let us listen to the first single from the album, the excellent ‘SMO’, in the most futuristic Michael Jackson Stela. ‘Girlie-Pop!’ It is a third change and it is our song of the day.

Throughout 2 minutes, Amaarae makes a word game between the creation of the perfect pop and the perfect romance.

The artist seeks the necessary ingredients to do something “exploit”, which can imply “exchange positions” or “change genres.” An ambiguity between the musical and the sexual that enriches a production in turn more varied than it seems at first sight.

Amaarae counts that ‘Girlie-Pop!’ It started as a freestyle around a guitar on a magical night in Brazil. Hence, despite the aroma of Jersey Club, some tropical air is introduced, or that in the end a crazy and twilight electric guitar sounds.

Amaarae’s intention was to capture “the feeling of kissing your favorite person from the world.” Because “we all dream of finding a person who sends us to the stars with just a smile and kiss you on your lips.” Not only has that achieved, but also create one of the most addictive productions of summer.

Just like the song, the video clip combines the sensuality of the kiss with the musical session.
