Alphaville’s ‘Forever Young’ is the most popular song on TikTok

It wasn’t at the time, but Alphaville’s ‘Forever Young’ is number 1 on one of the Billboard charts. Specifically, the one dedicated to the 50 most viral songs on TikTok. This list is based on the number of times the song has been used, the number of views, and the number of interactions with users.

In recent weeks, the social network has been filled with reflective videos about the passage of time and age, as well as edits of characters who, obviously, died when they were young. One of the most curious trends in this song consists of picking up a person and spinning around while they empty a bottle of water in slow motion.

In its original inclusion on the Hot 100, in the spring of 1985, ‘Forever Young’ debuted at number 93. In 1988 it returned to the ranking, improving its position and falling at number 65. By chance, the song has practically gone viral. on its 40th anniversary, since it was released in September 1984 along with Alphaville’s debut album.
