Almodóvar prepares his first novel, available in October

Pedro Almodóvar has announced the launch of his first novel, titled ‘The man who only wrote on airplanes’. It is not the acclaimed director’s first literary project, since he debuted with his book of stories, ‘The Last Dream’, in 2023. The novel will be available starting October 29.

The Reservoir Books publishing house will be behind the publication of the novel, about which they have given several details regarding its plot. The book will follow the story of Flavio Guijarro, a man who has accumulated different hobbies throughout his life, none of them long-term. Interpretation is the discipline that he has spent the most time developing, until he discovers that his true calling is… writing.

Reservoir describes the novel as “surprising, bookish and very passionate” and also reveals that the narrative is “winding.” This is how the book is presented on its website: “A tapestry of experiences and readings, of invented plots and borrowed ideas that serve as the foundation for a surprising, bookish, anxious and very passionate work.”
