The Catalan producer and artist Alizzz becomes more incisive than ever with “Callaíto”, his new single in which he abandons all ambiguity to sign one of his most explicit songs to date.
Vanguardist pop dress and loaded with message, the issue is a cry against double standards, constant judgment and lack of coherence in a society obsessed by pointing out others.
After the impact of your second album “Reckless driving” and the experimentation of the EP “Boycott” —Due already explored social themes with issues such as “What happens” -, Alizz redouble the political and personal commitment in “Callaíto”, a criticism that does not leave a puppet with a head. In this song, the artist not only points to power structures or dominant speeches, but also looks in the mirror: no one is out of the reach of his reflection.
The theme starts with a minimalist production, almost demo, which gradually transforms into a burst of pop sophistication, maintaining the tension between background and shape. In just three minutes, Alizz slides sharp references to performative feminism, the contradiction between detox life and drug use, the territorial debate in Catalonia, and the banalization of the protest. All wrapped in a careful sound, precise, and with the unmistakable seal of the artist who helped redefine contemporary Spanish pop.
