Benidorm Fest 2025 has recently announced the implementation of several changes in its organization, specifically two very important: the signing of Sergio Jaén as artistic director of this edition and the introduction of a prize of 150,000 euros for the winner.
It is still early to know the official list of artists who will compete in the Benidorm Fest 2026, although some names are already beginning to rumore in networks. The independent reality TV account – curiously, by Óscar Puente, Minister of Transportation of the Government of Spain – ensures exclusively that Álex Ubago, Roser and María Isabel have intended to participate in the contest.
Although none of the aforementioned artists have confirmed their participation, the information has been enough to light the debate in social networks. The possible presence of Álex Ubago has generated both support and rejections, both in X and our forums. Some imagine that he would propose a good ballad. Others give “maximum laziness.”
However, the three names announced by reality TV point to a more nostalgic or “dosmilero” profile, similar to Melody’s in the previous edition, which not everyone approves. “Ubago, Roser and María Isabel: apparently the BFEST will be a 2000 stars resurgator,” says the @jstevez user. Along the same lines, @Shaqt3 believes: “Come on, that anyone who has not taken a decent and successful song to Benidorm Fest … what we were missing.”
For now, none of these possible candidates seems to represent the turn that the contest needs. According to Formulatv, among the names most claimed by the public are some as current and relevant as Abraham Mateo, Ana Mena, Julieta, Belén Aguilera or Judeline, all of them with solid Fandoms and recent trajectory.
