Alex G is once again a child in the brilliant ‘afterlife’

Alex Giannascoli, better known as Alex G, returns with a new album. The successor of ‘God Save the Animals’ is titled ‘Headlights’ and will be available on July 18. The first advance is another jewel in the discography of the American artist. ‘Afterlife’ is the song of the day.

Co -produced by Giannascoli himself with Jacob Portrait of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, ‘afterlife’ presents a simple structure with a perfect melody. A dazzling guitar riff opens the song, which is another composition of the artist as effective as catchy. It is also one of Lorde’s outstanding themes on this last Friday of news, along with the launches of Sabrina Carpenter, Addison Rae and Big Thief.

Giannascoli sings about having “seventeen”, being “clean such as kerosene”, “candies” and “porn magazines.” A nostalgic lyrics that house perfectly with the youthful feeling of the song. This also talks about other possible lives. In one it was “a nightingale” and, in another, “your man”: “When the light arrived / big and bright / I started another life,” he sings in the chorus.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kt0z9rzkg-4
