Alessia Cara has made lemonade. After being rejected on several occasions to star in the famous NPR format, the Canadian artist has decided to do her own home concert. He titled it Giant Desk.
«Tiny Desk has refused to have me on the show many, many times, so I decided to do my own show. Tiny Desk, my table is bigger than yours,” Cara says at the beginning of the video. This has even replicated the NPR watermark that appears on all of its videos. Of course, now what it says is “FACE”.
The set begins with a sweet version of ‘Middle Ground’, from the album ‘In The Meantime’, and continues with a minimalist version of ‘I’m In Trouble’, taken from the artist’s last live album. Of course, what Alessia Cara demonstrates with this movement, in addition to great creativity, is that it could have perfectly had a place in the NPR format. These live versions are more than respectable.
