Alejandro Sanz, with Jordi Évole: “We are an immigrant country”

Alejandro Sanz has been the guest of the season finale of ‘Lo De Évole’, with the journalist accompanying the singer at his concerts in Washington and New York. Sanz discussed different topics, such as the use of immigration as a political tool, his relationship with Shakira and his experience with depression.

Regarding the first of these issues, Sanz said that there are things that are “conventional”, such as Spain being an “immigrant country”: “Using it politically seems low to me. Most people are going to contribute. “They are losing a series of values that guided us as a society.”

During the interview, the artist also addressed his relationship with depression, stating that “the first time was the worst because I didn’t know what it was.” However, he explains that over time he has learned to live with it: «It is not something that disappears. “When it happens to you once, I don’t think it goes away completely, but the following times the hole is a little smaller.” In addition, he assures that he has “matured a lot” in the last two years, feeling in control of his emotions.

Towards the end of the interview, he moved away from the serious tone when Évole asked him about Shakira, whom Sanz described as “a crack” who “is a 10 at work.” Rumors about a possible romantic relationship during the time of ‘La Tortura’ were not completely ruled out by the singer: «I’m not saying that there was no feeling, but at that time his girlfriend was Antonio, he was a friend. “I also had a partner.”

Finally, the singer assures that he is happy with how things turned out: “Now I am almost grateful for it, because I have a friendship with her that I would not like to lose.”
