The Madrid band Against The Waves has announced the launch of “Survivalism”his next studio album, which will be released on October 1 and will be made up of twelve songs.
Produced by Christoph Wieczorekknown for working with bands like Electric Callboy, Novelists and Annisokay, the album has been composed over the last two years and explores different ways of facing social, technological and emotional collapse.
The album’s concept revolves around “survivalism” (or “preparationism”), analyzing how individuals and communities react to crisis scenarios, pandemics or possible global collapses. Each song presents a different perspective, addressing emotions such as fear, resistance, evasion or transformation.
The band defines “Survivalism” as his most ambitious work to date. “It is a photograph of how we experience the current uncertainty and the different ways we have to face it,” they explain. The release comes after years of growth for Against The Waves, which has attended festivals such as Resurrection Fest and Rock al Parque, in addition to sharing the stage with international bands such as While She Sleeps or Underoath.
Along with the announcement of the album, the group has also confirmed the first dates of their Spanish presentation tour. The tour will start in Pamplona (October 3, TBA) and will subsequently pass through Valencia (November 6, Zulu Klub), Alicante (November 7, Marearock), Madrid (November 14, Sala Uni) and Vitoria (December 19, Urban Rock).
