Adele played the last of her 10-date Munich residency on August 31. At this final concert, Atkins reiterated that once she completes her Las Vegas concert schedule, she will take a long break from the stage. And she stressed that her retirement will be long, “incredibly long,” to be exact.
From the stage, Adele expressed her gratitude for the success of her Munich residency, but said she needed to take a break. Unable to hold back her tears and speaking with a broken voice, she said: “I need a break. I’ve been building a new life for seven years, and I want to live it.” Adele may be referring – among other things – to her engagement to sports agent Rich Paul, which she confirmed during one of her recent concerts.
In the same interview, Adele said she will remember her Munich concerts “for all eternity” and “fantasize” about them during her long break, but indicated that she will probably never face such an extensive concert schedule again. Her last 10 concerts in Las Vegas span from October 25 to November 23. After this last concert, the public will not see Adele on stage again for a long time.
“but after that (10 shows in Vegas), I will not see you for an incredibly long time… I just need a rest. I’ve spent the last 7 years building the life for myself, I want to live it now. “I want to live my new life I’ve been building” — Adele pic.twitter.com/LwviKRcVAe
