Despite its end more than a week ago, the third edition of Benidorm Fest continues to make headlines. Whether due to Nebulossa’s victory or Jorge González’s criticism of the jury, it seems as if the contest had not ended yet. But the truth is that there are people who already think about the future. This is the case of Abraham Mateo, who has revealed that he rules out appearing at the Benidorm Fest.
In an interview for Cadena SER, the singer of ‘ Quiero Decirte ‘ has confessed that participating in the Benidorm Fest is not part of his next plans, despite the fact that a while ago he would have answered yes. «Already ruled out, totally ruled out. I think that he has a very different vision than what I have in my mind that he should go to Eurovision », comments the artist. «It’s like, in some way, I see that he is very sectorized, you know? And I think that my proposal would be something that I believe in, but that is not going to be what people are going to want,” he added.
When the presenter responds that “you never know” what people are going to want, Abraham Mateo is even more forceful: “It may be, but hey, now that I’m living it this close this year, I think the best thing would be to continue with my career and being on my things, taking advantage of this good moment that I am having in general with my music and that’s it.
Abraham Mateo took the stage at Benidorm Fest 2024 as a guest artist, where he performed his hits ‘Falsos SERVICIOS’ and ‘Clavaíto’. Neither during the first song was he accompanied by Omar Montes nor during the second was he with Chanel. Later, Chanel would show his discontent over his own absence on social media.
