Abraham Mateo and Naiara have released ‘Tienes Que Saber’, the long-awaited collaboration that clearly intends to become one of the hits of the summer. The electropop song, produced by Abraham Mateo himself, is undeniably catchy, but it relies on a formula that we have seen too many times before.
In ‘Tienes Que Saber’, both singers confess to each other what happens to them when they’re apart, and it’s not pretty. The ailments they suffer from are mentioned as “chronic insomnia,” “pneumonia” and “anxiety.” Although the lyrics are a bit exaggerated at times, I can see a clubber singing the first lines of the chorus at the top of his lungs: “It’s shit every time you leave, I miss you at the second puff.”
The melody has that nostalgic feeling that reminds us of ‘Formentera’ or ‘Tiroteo’, and the instrumental break that all these songs have cannot be missing either. However, it never gets boring at any point. The general feeling is that ‘Tienes Que Saber’ could perfectly be a hit, but it could also not be without it being strange.
