«A fan who comes to wait at the airport knows all the songs, but thanks for the flowers»

Mon Laferte has been the last guest at Rosalía’s confessional in Mexico, in which she has remembered all the times in which she has been called “intense, dramatic, exaggerated” and “passionate”, but that is not what her fans are talking about. The Chilean-Mexican artist was at the airport in Mexico when a boy approached her with the idea of getting a signature. Laferte’s response, which he refused, unleashed all kinds of criticism.

In the video, uploaded by the supposed fan, you can see how he asks for a signature and Mon Laferte asks him for a song that he likes from his latest album, ‘Femme Fatale Vol. 2’. He is not able to name the title of any song, but he tries to win over the artist by remembering that “I even brought you some flowers.” Mon Laferte was clear: “A fan who comes to wait at the airport knows all the songs, but thanks for the flowers,” the artist said as she left.

Although many began to criticize the artist, others supported her position, ensuring that the boy was dedicated to reselling signatures. Mon Laferte was even forced to respond to a fan’s tweet explaining the entire situation: “I don’t understand why Mon automatically has to be the villain just because a fan didn’t get the response he was expecting,” the user commented. “My love, I’m almost sure I wasn’t a fan,” the artist clarified.

«Do you think that someone who is going to wait for their favorite artist at the airport doesn’t know any song from their last two albums? If I’m wrong, that’s okay. We all make mistakes. But the devil knows more because he is old than because he is a devil,” the artist wrote in X.
